Operators of waste water treatment plants have to make decisions on the economical and environmentally safe management of the generated sewage sludge. This guidance gives orientation on the various aspects that should be considered in conjunction with efforts to achieve an optimised sewage sludge disposal and to maximise the utilisation of this secondary resource within an economically sound framework.
