The EU Commission published its statistics on the bathing water quality for 2009 season on 10 June 2010. 99 percent of Germany’s bathing waters meet the quality standards set by the EC Bathing Water Directive. 81 percent of bathing waters even meet the more stringent requirements to be classified as ‘good quality’. read more
